How are the mastery levels defined?

There are four mastery levels that assess your mastery of a question from 0 to 100%. It is important to note that the grade used to assess the mastery level is your weighted grade. Read how weighted grades are calculated here.

Mastery LevelGrades MethodMastery Symbol

NoviceYour weighted grade is between 0 and 50%
ProficientYour weighted grade is either,

  2. 80-100% with 5 attempts or less.
MasteredYour weighted grade is above 80% and you've practiced this more than 5 times.

I have 100% for a question, why isn't it considered 'Mastered'?

For a Japanese question at JPDrills to be considered mastered, it must have been practiced at least 5 times. Having a question considered mastered is a tough achievement meant only for those up for the challenge and requires consistency and dedication. You can do it!
