What are Mastery Levels?
When you practice Japanese questions at JPDrills, we assess your current understanding of each question based on your past performance on this question. Your mastery level is based on your current understanding which is determined by our weighted mastery grade method.

How are the mastery levels defined?
There are four mastery levels that assess your mastery of a question from 0 to 100%. It is important to note that the grade used to assess the mastery level is your weighted grade. Read how weighted grades are calculated here.
Mastery Level | Grades Method | Mastery Symbol |
New | Your first attempt at this question | |
Novice | Your weighted grade is between 0 and 50% | |
Proficient | Your weighted grade is either,

Mastered | Your weighted grade is above 80% and you've practiced this more than 5 times. |
I have 100% for a question, why isn't it considered 'Mastered'?
For a Japanese question at JPDrills to be considered mastered, it must have been practiced at least 5 times. Having a question considered mastered is a tough achievement meant only for those up for the challenge and requires consistency and dedication. You can do it!
